Great Drill For QB's To Practice Working Through Their Progression. · Elite Athletes TV
What it is
Former pro QB Mike Pawlawski teaches a progression drill that syncs footwork timing with reading through multiple route options.
Why it's great
Most progression videos show the concept from a whiteboard; this one drills the mechanic of when to hitch, when to reset the feet, and how eye movement triggers the next step. Pawlawski connects the drop timing to each checkpoint in the progression so QBs learn the rhythm, not just the read order.
How to use it in practice
Set up a 3-level route concept with cones or receivers. QB takes a 3- or 5-step drop, works high to low while maintaining pocket depth. Emphasize the hitch step when the primary is covered and the footwork reset before moving to the next read. Drill it at half speed first to groove the timing, then add pressure with a countdown or live rush.
