Technique
7 Ways to Improve your Hand Fighting · Iron Faith Wrestling
What it is
Seven hand-fighting techniques for neutral position, covering both offensive setups and defensive counters for youth through high school wrestlers.
Why it's great
Most hand-fighting instruction is vague ('be active', 'get inside'). This breaks down specific grips, clearing motions, and re-attacks with clear success criteria. Where other videos show one or two ties, this gives coaches a progression they can teach across multiple practices, building a complete system rather than isolated moves.
How to use it in practice
Use this as a two-week neutral position unit. Days 1-3: teach the first three techniques in stance-and-motion drills. Days 4-6: add resistance with partner clearing drills. Week 2: chain them together in live hand-fighting (no shots) before adding to live wrestling. The video shows each technique from multiple angles with common mistakes identified.
