Takedowns
Wrestling Drills: 6 Techniques for Shooting the Perfect Single Leg Takedown · Footwork Trainer
What it is
Six finishing variations for the single-leg takedown, broken down by footwork and body mechanics for high school and college wrestlers.
Why it's great
Most single-leg videos show one or two finishes; this breaks down six different options based on opponent reaction and position. Knable focuses on the foot position and hip placement that determines which finish is available, not just the move itself.
How to use it in practice
Use this as a station drill: pair athletes, have them secure a single-leg from standing, then freeze. Walk through each finish based on where the opponent's weight is, drill each finish 5 reps per side, then cycle to live finishes where the bottom wrestler picks their defense and top has to read and finish.
