Catching
Texas A&M WR Coach Holmon Wiggins - Catching Drills · James Light
What it is
Texas A&M WR coach Holmon Wiggins teaches five catch-point situations: low ball, back hip/shoulder, contested catch, and two high-point variations.
Why it's great
Unlike drill compilations, this isolates the adjustment mechanics for each catch type. Wiggins shows hand placement and body positioning at the catch point rather than just running receivers through patterns. The back-hip drill addresses the timing and hand-eye coordination most videos skip.
How to use it in practice
Set up stations for each scenario: low ball (hands down, scoop technique), back shoulder (head whip and hand extension), contested (strong hands through contact), over-the-top and high-point go balls (tracking and elevation). Rotate groups every 3-4 minutes with a coach correcting hand position at each station.
