Wrestling For Beginners: Hand Fighting · Iron Faith Wrestling
What it is
Hand-fighting fundamentals for beginners: grip breaks, inside control, and creating angles before shots.
Why it's great
Most hand-fighting content shows advanced ties or neutral scrambles; this breaks down the grip fight itself—how to earn inside position, when to clear grips versus redirect them, and the timing that makes attacks work. It's the pre-shot phase most wrestlers skip.
How to use it in practice
Use this as a 10-minute neutral warmup: partner drill the grip breaks shown, progress to live hand-fighting with no shots (control only), then open it up. The cue about hand speed versus hand placement will fix wrestlers who slap at grips instead of controlling them.
